Street photography meets visual anthropology on this exploration of the city of Jerusalem through discarded bread. Beyond its ancient religious symbolism, this curious photobook presents bread as a public bonding experience inscribed on the traces left by humanity in the Holy City.

Pita, challah, rugelach, flatbread, seeded, bagels, baguettes, taboon, nazook, hadjin, ... Bread in all it shapes and forms had taken over the public space in the city. Sometimes half-eaten and often quirkily misplaced, it seemed like a ritual preparation laid down ready to be indulged by passersby. It was written in the Holy books; for Muslims, Jewish and Christians it was forbidden to throw it away.
