San Antonio de los Baños is a city in the Artemisa province of Cuba. Located 26 km from the city of Havana, is the most widely filmed city in Cuba due to its proximity to EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión). This unique film school was founded on 1986 by Colombian journalist and writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Argentinean poet and filmmaker Fernando Birri, and Cuban theoretician and filmmaker Julio Garcia Espinosa.
This short documentary was set to explore the idiosyncrasy that makes San Antonio de los Baños the capital of humor in Cuba. This curious town has been hosting an International Humour Biennale since 1979, and has a unique Humour Museum, the first of its kind in South America.
