She and Her are a series of incidental performances in public spaces in and around London created by artists Martina von Holn and Dianna Brinsden.

SHE & HER CROSSING

She and Her Crossing mapped the public space of Camberwell cross roads through a series of interventions which travel within the framework of the changing phases of traffic light circuits. Between green and red, walk and wait, travel and rest; the two performers embarked on a continuous journey from one axis of the road to the next while exploring ways of challenging public behaviour patterns. She and Her was part of the Camberwell Arts Festival in 2007.

SHE & HER EXCHANGE

Set in the two lift spaces either side of Greenwich Foot Tunnel the artists created an unusual connection between the two sides of the Thames River. Upon arrival the visitor was drawn into the remnants of a chain of strange occurrences. She and Her Exchange is a puzzle that asks the visitors to put the fragments together in their own head. The work invites the audience to shift their perceptions of encountering strangers while proposing scenarios of unexpected social interaction. She and Her Exchange was created as part of Cupboard Love and presented by Occupymytime in April 2008.

SHE & HER HERE & THERE

This exploration engaged the audience on a journey juxtaposing the area’s industrial past with the present, sieving flour traces, hauling ropes deep-sea cables. While becoming aware of the fragility between now and then, the walk pays tribute to the overlooked, the forgotten and the discarded. Sidling along narrow alleys and waterways, She and Her Here and There playfully reveals interventions which re-invent the relationship between individuals and the spaces we inhabit. This performance was commissioned by The Space in April 2008, to create a new work which took the audience on an unusual guided tour on the Isle of Dogs in South East London.

SHE & HER  SLEEPWALKING

This performance was based on the fairy tale: The Princess and the Pea, and playfully invited the audience to become part of the work at St Anne’s Well Park in Brighton. The performance was commissioned by the Brighton Festival to create new artwork for their programme in May 2008.
